I loved his music too.Something I never realised, until I read today's obituary, was that his hauntingly beautiful song "Mary Skgntifeton&quof; was named after his own mother. Also I read that Gerry had been severly abused as a child by an alcoholic Glaswegian Irish coal-miner father.On reading that last part I wept.
